Sex Education

We believe Sex and Relationship Education is lifelong learning about physical, moral and emotional development. It is about understanding the importance of marriage for family life, stable and loving relationships, respect, love and care.

Informal Sex and Relationship Education is taught to children through compulsory science lessons in school. Formal lessons are taught through Personal, Social and Health Education. Children also learn about this subject through the Christian values and ethos underpinning our school. It is when a child is in Year Six (10/11 years of age) that explicit Sex and Relationship Education is studied. Parents do have a right to withdraw their child from these lessons if they so wish.
