R.E. / Collective Worship

As a ‘Church of England’ Primary School, we have strong and committed links with the church. Daily acts of worship are an integral part of the school day. Each week there is a varied programme of acts of worship led by members of staff, the parish priest or visitors. Religious Education is taught using the Cambridgeshire Scheme of Work. All children study this subject weekly. The syllabus reflects principally the teaching of the Anglican Church, but from Year One the children also explore the basic principles behind the five other faiths from around the world.

Parents have the right to withdraw their children from acts of worship and the teaching of Religious Education on the grounds of their own religious beliefs. Parents must contact the Head teacher to discuss this matter and alternative arrangements can be made for these children during these times of day.
