Family values are at the heart of our school community. We actively encourage parents to involve them selves with life at Elton through invitation to class assemblies, church services, open evenings, workshops, sports events, musical productions etc.

Class teachers value the relationship, which builds between parents and themselves. Teachers are always available at short notice to meet parents, however, we do ask for longer discussions to take place after school. Parent Consultations take place during the Autumn and Spring Terms, In the Summer Term, teachers write the Annual Report for each child and there is an opportunity to discuss this with the teacher in more detail.

In addition, we offer 'Drop-in' consultations on the first Wednesday of each month, where teachers are available from 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm without the need for an appointment.

  • F.O.E.S.
'Friends of Elton School' is a thriving organisation, which works to organise fundraising events for school to enable us to purchase vital resources. Anyone from the community can be a member of F.O.E.S. and your support would be most welcomed. Meetings are held on a Tuesday night in the school once every half term. Please see a member of staff in the office for the date of the next meeting!

  • Minus Five
If you have pre-school children we hold a club on a Tuesday afternoon in the school hall for parents and children of 1-5 years of age. This event is free of charge and offers the chance for you to meet other parents, play with your child and also gives them the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the school surroundings prior to starting their time with us.

  • Parent Helpers
We are always extremely grateful for any help in school. If you have a particular skill or a spare hour each week and would like to volunteer to help in school, please contact the Head Teacher. (A copy of our Parent Volunteer contract is available from the school office).

  • After-School Club
'Splats'n'Splodges' is a club which is held in the school between 3.15 pm and 6.00 pm - Monday to Friday, for children whose parents require their children to be cared for until they leave work.

The Manager is Mrs Kati Dalgleish who can be contacted on 07714 324888
(there is a voicemail facility with this number).
Please note that the school office does not administer this activity
